Field Report for Dry Season
Finally the refreshment is here! and it wraps for the weeks. Tomorrow is Holiday, I'm going to have a good resh.
Carrefour Mid Valley got a restock, it was the mixture of new and old assortments in the wave. From the observation, the models on the pegs not complete comparing to the one reported by PY (see last Saturday post).
I believe the stocks keeper still have some extra, for such big hypermarket they should have more in the storeroom. I advice you revisit the store tomorrow if you drop by for the windows shopping.
Before I left, I saw someone talking to the store keeper, perhap he did not open to see the rest.
Good luck to us. YeoCP

The Untraceable Variation, Buick Grand National Revealers
From the earlier post, I have made the BGN (Buick Grand National) out of the blister.
The Revealers is extraordinary with the wheels variance, which not usually see in the team segment. (You can check)
Let's talk on the BGN, the engine revealing feature is cool. Without the hood, the modded chrome V6 3.8L engine can be clearly seen. While you just need a little harder to remove the cover. It is click on!
Vin Diesel going to drive one in the latest Fast and Furious movie, if you have the BGN black colour First Edition, it looked just the same. Unfortunately, I do not have. :( YeoCP//

Custom Volkswagen Beetle, Lovely!
A quick DIY on the VW Beetle from the currently wave, just added some lovely pictures from the Nail Decor stickers, the result looks like from decal paper.
The Nail Decor is the one use for ladies nail decoration, I find it very easy to apply and it is very cost effective (Less than RM2.00).
The steps to apply is simple,
1. Cut the shape out and remove the clear sheet.
2. Place the design face down on the surface and press firmly.
3. Wet the back with water and wait for 30 seconds.
4. Slide the back paper and let the design dry.
Still looking for nicer pictures for my upcoming DIY, as this is for nail decoration, don't expect to get racer stickers like HKS, Sparco and stuff.
Something you can try is the Tattoo stickers, it is from the same material, you should have more variety design to choose from. Have fun!

Review: Hot Wheels Ferriari 430 Spider
The 430 Spider reveal again in 2009 Dream Garage, originally from 2006 First Edition.
This year, the 430 purely in black and white, no any other colours on it. Even though still sexy. YeoCP//
I Like:
Clean combination, black and pearl white, nice!
I Dislike:
Nope, nothing!!
Verdict:
The first unveil in pack of 3, still waiting for its single blister pack.

Tomica Marked Down
(Picture Officially from Litt Tak)
Litt Tak readjusted price to their 5 models from Tomica regular series to RM9.90 from RM12.90 started from April fool day.
The notice already on most of the department stores, repost here in case some did not noticed.
Models on new price are,
#17 Toyota Celsior
#20 Daihatsu Move Custom
#28 Honda Elysion
#33 Toyota Vitz
#40 Mitsuoka Viewt
My View
I have lost touch with Tomica for a while, can't really tell which is the newer models from the list. In fact most of the collectors do feel the same.
If just selection from the outlook, I will pick the 2 in green colours. In fact I already bought it.
This doesn't seen as the promotion for short period of time, as from the observation, Sale for the Japanise brand has been affected on the later market movement.
This can easily tell from the statistic from the discussion boards, post on the Tomica board is less than 1/10 of the Hot Wheels speed, diecast collectors are now more into Hot Wheels collection.
Bottom Line
No doubt Tomica produced good diecast, if Litt Tak seriously like to regain the market, they should consider readjust back to last year price , RM7.90, better still RM7.50. This will blur out the line with Hot Wheels on RM6.50, gain back from volume in the long run, rather than death stocks in hand.
RM12.90 isn't a affortable price to most people see it as a toy, what about the limited on RM29.90.
Last word, above just my opinion, you may not agree with me. Big Passion for Small Cars.

FR: Wrap of the week 17
Finally we saw multiple of Custom '53 Chevy by HWCM members, especially Pydrumerboy from his Tesco routine checks.
Market is very dry, perhaps, this is a good sign for end of the Blue Bird Wave, and bye bye to 2008 cards. Just a few days to May, we still see 08 cards on most of the pegs. Exapmle, TRU, I have not seen any new cards for the pass 5 months.
Still remember New Cold Storage outlet open in PJ last weeks, stocks almost finish on the opening day, Datsun Blue Birds and VW Beetles are gone in 1st day. I was there after work, left only the 2nd choices on the racks.
Few notable models for the new wave,
Dream Garage 2006 Dodge Viper
Dream Garage Lamborghini MurciƩlago
Dream Garage Ferrari F430 Spider
Hot Wheels Star Go Kart
T-Hunt Custom '53 Chevy
All these are my wanted list, not sure about yours, but do get your pocket ready.
Pictures courtesy of Pydrumerboy, hopefully new wave is on my way.

Yellow Evolution Colour Shifters
The 2nd Colour of Colour Shifter Lancer Evolution has out. This round with fluorescent yellow turn red colour.
I terms of detailing, the 2nd colour lose out for the side design from the 1st one. But the back is compensated with extra as the overall package.
Although the colour looks funny or rather not realistic, but many diehard Evo fans out there will never skip this model.
Would you buy anyway?

Review: Hot Wheels Color Shifters, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
The Evo X immediate became the most wanted model when it released in Color Shifters series. Moreover, each carton of colour shifters shipment contained only one of it at the present wave packaging.
We seem missed the 1st wave of the colour shifters, which contained the 1st colour of the Evo X - red. Don't worry the upcoming wave will have it included, just that, it is in the plain red without any tampo. Don't feel disappointing when you see that.
How Color Shifting works?
The shifter change to 2nd colour when the temperature climate changed to cold, return to its original colour when turned warm. YeoCP//
I Like:
Change colour, cool feature. Can use it as temperature meter, ha!
I Dislike:
It never returned to 1st colour in my office under the air conditioned, the Evo always in black colour, tampos went hidden :(
Verdict:
The 2nd variation Evo with Tampo looked so nice, will see red variance suit my taste later when it returned.

Review: The Vintage Casting, Splittin' Image
Second colour of the 2008 Hot Wheels Star Splittin' Image. The green colour variance has the better appearance, furthermore with the latest 09 packaging.
Read the earlier post if you missed the 1st colour story. YeoCP//
I like:
Real Classic casting, 1st debut in 1969 before I was born.
I Dislike:
Can't really comment on the down side, it was technology 40 years ago.
Verdict:
Investment value 2/5, although it's vintage casting, the reproductions did not give a good value.
